Profile:
Studied fine arts under the tutelage of eminent artists like Binod Behari Mukherjee, Ramkinkar Baij and D. K. Dev Burman at Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan in 1963. After that he specialized in design from NID in 1981. He has participated in various national exhibitions and group shows since 1964 al Kolkata, Santiniketan, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, which includes group show ?Indigenous Modernity Various Trends? curated by Mrinal Ghosh at Aakriti Art Gallery, Kolkata, 2007. He is the founder member of ?Painters? Orchestra?, established in 1968 in Kolkata. His works are displayed in several private collections in UK, USA, Australia and India. He has served as a senior designer at Handicrafts Development Center, Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi for 33 years. He is a consultant to Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan and National Institute of Science, Technology & Development, New Delhi.
